The mass of people intending to criminally trespass into the U.S. will be, one way or another, on the border in time for the election. Any one who gets on to U.S. soil has some sort of legal rights under current law.

How to keep them from crossing into the U.S.? Bit of an International Law problem if we do anything which crosses over to the Mexican side. Although maybe having U.S. troops charging over the line would be the easiest to justify.

One could declare a health issue and close the border to all traffic to maintain public health. Who knows what diseases are coming in to harm American Citizens?

They'll take two months to get here. Many will drop out due
to exhaustion but a lot will get here. How to stop them ?
The only answer is the military. Posse Comitatus is a prohibition
against the internal use of the military against civilians,but an
invasion from outside our borders seems like something totally

This isn't a caravan. It is an organized mob which was carefully planned and financed. It turns out that most of the members are men of military age. Whoever these people are they will xxxx themselves when they come face to face with the troopers from the 82nd Airborne Division which is going to be deployed.
