I've made the point before -- modern liberalism is Fascism. Rights no longer accrue to the individual, but to groups.

But the drop in violent crime after passing a "shall issue" law is not unique to Florida. Virtually every state that has passed a "shall issue" law has had the same drop. Now the political climate in Chicago may be such that a "shall issue" law cannot be passed -- or will not be respected. But that's another matter.

Vern with your statement are you talking about that transferable social disease...DEMOCRACY? Some of "ours" are infected with this Socially Transmitted Disease [STD] and try hard to infect other's. STD is rampant among Democrats now, just look at the rantings of their leaders and now the other STD Socialism. Maxine and Hillary are perfect examples of damaged brains due to the STD. I expect one of "our" three will now rant and show "their" side as well.

Shall issue probably worked in places where the good people outnumber the few bad.

Read a New Orleans, LA newspaper and you will see many murders every day. These deaths don't make it to the national news but the local papers report some of them. Since I was young I've heard that the Mississippi River is very loaded with bodies. Miami and Tampa FL are very violent cities too. A lot of crime and murders with a lot of cover-up/quietness.

The question is: What element is common to most, if not all, of these urban murder statistics? The dems cannot hide it forever. Regards, Clark

What would the NRA say? Would the answer be in effect that the problem is not enough guns in Chicago? This is not meant to be a leading question. At some level the supply of firearms in the hands of felons and teenage gangbangers is part of the problem. Honest citizens can return fire, but they can't put those first few shots, often the fatal ones, back in the barrel.
Part of the problem from what I've read is the citizens in the affected communities are scared to come forward and ID the shooters. Unless the Law Enforcement Community steps in with a real show of force this sad situation will go on forever

I'll defer to JB's familiarity on this point but it seems to me that the Chicago PD is there to keep a lid on the worst of it and isn't in the business of turning bad neighborhoods into good ones. Real change IMO needs to come from the community, maybe with outside help, and not just through more cops.
