What's the point in having a weapon if you don't use it ? ...

These ever growing hordes attempting to gain
access to our welfare system need to be stopped.
The question is how much force will be needed
to do it. I don't think a crowd of thousands is
going to be easily deterred. Words and threats
won't work and bullets is a definite no no.
Now I remember seeing an article some time back
about a weapon that directs an uncomfortable
amount of heat toward rowdies over a distance of
maybe a hundred yards or more. In the test that
I saw the make-believe rowdies retreated rather
quickly. As it's only heat then there's probably
no problem in beaming it across the border.

In addition to heat, there is noise. A lot of ships that traverse the areas burdened with Somali pirates are equipped with a noise maker that is so intense that it can almost knock someone unconscious. Given that this is a non-lethal weapon, it might be feasible. Of course, if the US uses it, they will be accused of causing irreparable hearing problems and lifelong PTSD to the innocent children in the caravan. Yep use what we have. I'm a fan of the Minuteman Man III myself. There as been talk for years of developed sound and heat weapons. Maybe we will see some employed soon.

Part of the defense mechanism in ancient castles was a heat source.

If Mexico were to be made "uncomfortable" there wouldn't be a next time.

The one thing that will work was mentioned by Dogtag. Remove entitlement to welfare!

Now THERE is a good solution -- walls will not work as long as welfare is granted to illegals.
