    Turnout

From the county chair. GOP ballots returned 31.5%, Dem 31%, Indies 18.1%. This is beginning to remind me of a friend, Viet Vet. Forty years on pissed off at LBJ for sending him to Vietnam. Refused to register to vote. Why? "I don't want to serve jury duty". My tale of walking into the P.O. and getting the press gang treatment for jury duty (nobody showed up so the judge called the sheriff) didn't make any difference.

Get out there if you haven't.

I've never voted Democratic. Seems like they were always the side that wanted to raise taxes. LBJ was hated by us "Nam vets to the point that when LBJ visited "Nam, a few of his stops were cancelled because of threats made by our troops. Our LURPS were mean bastards that knew how to do it too!

Our dooms day is 6 of 11. The Guvna race is between a Chicago Machine dem and a GOP incumbent whom the dems have managed to stymie, stall, and demonize his entire term. The race for Guvna is what it is. Look up the Polish spelling of "Gowno" in English and you'll see what we have to vote for.
Chicago has the largest concentration of Poles than any other city in the world aside from Warsaw. Hence the play on words.

They have not used voter registration to corral jurors in decades. It's all DL & state ID's etc. Be thankful of those who continue to remain ignorant to that because they probably don't know how to vote anyway.

I am not sure about the details of their births, but the LURPS impressed me as sneaky, not mean. Regards, Clark

They get Jurors from the DMV.
Makes you wonder just who's serving on Juries
          especially here in Moonbeam country.

You should serve on a Jury here. My last stint of jury duty we had ONE case that required a jury -- a lawsuit for wrongful appropriation of a pig (I kid you not.) They drew the jury panel and the rest of us had to stay for voir dire, in case one of those chosen was dismissed. The judge asked, "Do any of you know the plaintiff or the defendants?"

One man raised his hand. "I know the defendants."

"Would that prevent you from rendering a fair and just verdict?"

"Welllllllll, I WUZ at the barbecue."

My father drove me by that big cemetery on Lincoln? and said '35,000 Democrats live there'.

It's known as finding support in the lower level neighborhoods.

For some reason I get called for jury duty quite often. I don't mind since I'm retired and for me it is interesting stuff. My spouse has never been called after 30 years together.
