They can vote even if they can't read the ballot ...

I'm not sure if these kids can figure it out without help:
I can imagine it would go like this:
OK Billy, you put an X where the D is.
    D ?
Oh for God's sake - It's like an O with a flat side.
    Which side ?
Oh Jesus - the left side.
    Left ?
Oh for Christ's sake - walks off mumbling.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Washington, D.C., City Council is preparing to vote on a bill to lower the voting age to 16 for all elections, both local and federal.

Say, how 'bout we use literacy tests to decide who is qualified to vote? Can't believe no one ever thought of that.

      Sounds like a great idea.

As a matter of fact, how about just pictures on a greasy Wafflehouse menu?

While in Army basic training there were troops who just couldn't figure out which foot was left or right. Then there was the drill sargent who always said "put ya right foots forward".

Should be the bare minimum requirement, though much improved with a test of American history & civics. But that's only if you believe that informed, intelligent, voters should be deciding the fate of the country. If you believe the ignorant, illiterate, senile, or retarded, can make wiser political choices, then eliminate all competency testing.

Those pesky Supreme Court rulings certainly have cramped our style. Bring Jim Crow out of retirement and reestablish the North American aristocracy. Only those who are considered literate, well educated (Only Ivy League grads need apply) and have property holdings in excess of $XXXX should be allowed to vote. While we're at it...only those of noble birth should be allowed to run for office. (tic)

Ocasio Cortez couldn't have said it better. Possibly Al Sharpton could, but I wouldn't bet on it.
