US is apparently no longer the famous "Quoted arsenal of democracy"

Quote: If you want to believe America is still the "arsenal of democracy" that Franklin Roosevelt described in 1940, you might want to avoid looking too closely at the U.S. manufacturing sector. China has become the world's premier industrial power, greatly out-producing the United States in everything from steel to smartphones. Germany's machine-tool industry outshines our own. No U.S. shipyard has built a commercial ship destined for international commerce in decades. end Quote:

According to the article, the US is in a very bad state regarding the ability to manufacture our military goods, it's scary! Ray

But we still lead the world in nanny-state professions: gender & minority studies, drug counseling, a hundred other social work specialties for which the public pays directly or indirectly; when companies hire a high-priced charlatan to provide "sensitivity training" of their employees, the cost is added to the product, not, you can be sure, deducted from the annual bonuses of the execs. Who do you think pays for the flock of "grief councilors" called in after every "incident" however trivial, such as the countless bogus bomb threats called in by students with grudges against their school or other students?

CH, you reminded me about a time my kids were sent to grief counseling following an incident where a student was hit in traffic. My kids had a list of names for it such as "Nanny Time, high school daycare, and beanbag class among others. At the end of the sessions they were asked to write a few words about what they gained from the experience. My son wrote *three* words: Don't play in the street. I caught him on that to which he replied. "That's OK, it's the same school that's teaching me math"

If he gets the chance again, I suggest he write: "it's good to be a crybaby, wrong to be strong & control your feelings," because that's now an essential part of the indoctrination in US public schools.

His schooling is many years in the past now. Although...fairly recently he was asked to volunteer for sensitivity training as part of a quota. He said "Yup. I think I better go. My spic wife and my half-breed kid have suggested that pansie-assed crap too."
Needless to say he wasn't selected. His boss was laughing too hard.

I remember driving from Buffalo to Boston on the NY and Mass turnpikes and thinking about how many famous manufacturing names were within 100 miles of that road in either direction, including firearms and bayonets. Things change. But the US still spends what? $500B+/year on the military? Some of that must go into manufacturing, and not just $10K toilet seats.

In 1940 there were the "Bundles for Britain". Among the most sought after items were-firearms.
Building firearms ? Liberals don't like that, if we had no RKBA, no domestic firearms industry all would be sweetness and light for them.
