    Gun control again?

New murders in California, 12 innocents + the murderer. People asking, "Why?" and drawing a blank look. Some now demanding Congress Act and people not caring that California has some of the most stringent gun laws. Reported weapon used was a .45 auto with multiple magazines. City was one of the "safest" in the nation and that myth is now shattered.
The Deputy did what he was trained to do and I am saddened at what happened to him, as well as with the other's. Society has to come to the realization that no where is safe and to constantly look around. Those of us who were trained do it automatically and not think about it, other's need to learn this aspect of life. @ the rate this nation is going we might as well keep the flag at half staff. People have been looking for an answer since Cain slew his brother Abel.

Studies have shown that gun deaths around the world are proportional to the gun supply in that society, that in the end all human factors average out. Make of that what one will.

Firearms are tools, I am the weapon. In Africa machetes are a prime weapon of choice, other places knives. Many people are killed with bare hands, what then?

Sounds like you're proposing to do a better job of regulating people in order to prevent them from causing death?

Soft laws and short prison sentences are to blame for nearly all crime.

Overpopulation in itself will bring about the desire to commit crime. Add to that the diversity of other cultures coming here that do not fit in.

Guns, as mentioned, are just a tool, just like a knife, hammer, poison, car, screwdriver, piece of glass, board with a nail in it, baseball bat or using your bare hands.

A de-armed nation is a government controlled nation so this is all that matters to the democrats and the UN which wants a one world government.

Probably a troubled soul. He was a Marine with combat experience. How about we examine if he was on any meds for what is being reported PTSD and their possible side effects.

I believe Togor is close to the truth. Regulating people who have access to the "tools" is the hard part, constitutionaly.

After reading about the shooter I see much more now. I feel sorry for the shooter as much as I do for all the victims, I am not condoning his actions I just understand them a little better. I have seen the rage that he must have felt having seen it in clients diagnosed with Intermittent Explosive Disorder. Ian was carrying his own demon which finally destroyed him and society ask, "Who is responsible?" The answer is you and I, no one else. Laws have to be changed for involuntary commitment and follow-up of anyone who has an anger issue. You and I either pay for treatment or continue these incidents. Society will close down mental facilities to save money but keep other dubious things open. People scoff at treatment, yet I have seen it work time and time again saving lives. It is easier to ban things then treat sick individuals, this is one of the issues. People are often stating that they are afraid of hurting ones feelings, yet feelings are hurt in the long run.
You as an individual have a decision to make where your live to save your life and your loved ones. Are you willing to tell your politicians to do what is necessary to fund mental health treatment or just sit back and hope it doesn't visit your home. People with anger issues must be treated or separated from society for their own good. What good is civil rights when the burial grounds are overflowing with victims? Ever hear of road rage, that is the reality that you face every time you get into your car. This incident could have been prevented if you are willing to take the first step.

Wait...how am I responsible for this Sam? Me or anyone else here? That deserves clarification.
