Let me ask you this....would you cut Obama any slack in the same circumstances? Under any circumstances? And...who's screaming? It looks to me like you understand the weakness of your argument and are headed for the off-ramp, shouting "can't deal with these crazy liberals!" over your shoulder on your way out. What crazy liberals? Where?

Trump's image has always been THE MAN. Well....to some of us, being THE MAN is not a title to be worn only in good times. How did ol' Harry put it? THE BUCK STOPS HERE.

Yes, I would have cut President Obama slack under similar circumstances. How in the hell is a president supposed to know the weather capabilities of the presidential helicopter or of the pilots, for that matter. You are just so rabidly eager to criticize President Trump that reason escapes you.

I'm talking about Aisne-Marne, not Arlington. Possibly an honest misunderstanding, but somehow I doubt the vitriol will abate.

Togor is so eager to baffle all us poor schmucks with his superior education and bs that reason sometimes escapes him. President Trump May be THE MAN but anyone with a touch of military experience (which Togor seems to have successfully avoided) knows that the PIC of a military aircraft is THE MAN even if he’s carrying the POTUS.

BTW Vern, you do reply to these guys entirely too often. If we all just ignored them, they would pack up their superior intellect and their smarmy comments and go elsewhere.

Well, he found out I'm better educated than he is, and he dropped THAT particular sneer. But you're right -- I should just ignore them totally.

Who is placing themself above whom? You're saying that I'm out of line to be disappointed that Trump could fly all the way to France but couldn't get himself to a cemetery with American war dead on the 100th anniversary of the end of the Great War. Somehow you know better than me what is an appropriate sentiment under the circumstances. My grandfather is buried at Epinal, not Aisen-Marne, for a different war, but nonetheless the subject of Americans interned in France is important to me.

Actually not the sneering type, but like any human, not impossible to provoke. Of course between you and Bill D, I'm either too educated or not educated enough. So the conversation appears less about education then just some guys getting pissed off that someone disagrees with them. If you follow this thread you see that I haven't flamed anybody. And yet simple disagreement sets some guys off. Who has the problem? Not me.

I’m NOT suggesting that you were “out of line to be disappointed that (President) Trump could fly all the way to France but couldn’t get himself to a cemetery”. I’m stating that “disappointment “ was NOT what came out of your post. It was instead vitriol against a president who had no control over the circumstances that caused him to not be able to get to the cemetery.

Incidentally, I’m not questioning whether you are educated enough - I’m questioning whether you are smart enough. I’m now going to take my own advice and make you disappear.

....... you did notice that he sent two delegate representatives who seemed to have no problem overcoming "the circumstances " .... didn't you ?

Maybe, just MAYBE the two delegate representatives went a day earlier. I don’t have all the facts, do you? Or, like Togor, would you rather just accuse the President out of hand.

                            You disappeared also!
