    I wonder?

On the form 4473 there is a section that asks if one is a user of or addicted to illegal drugs. If one uses cannabis in those states where it is "legal?" and answers no what is the potential ramifications to one's liberty?

weed is still illegal in the eyes of the fed,

so if you are a user of weed, legally in whatever state it is legal in, and you check yes on that box, (11.e) you will not be able to purchase a firearm

meaning the dealer will deny you the purchase,

Yup! If the form is related to Federal viewing, you should answer 'NO'.

Obviously after a few people get denied word will get out and people will just lie on the forms.

Pee test will not be conclusive either since traces of using weed clear up within a few days.

Just one more reason to keep pot illegal and not let states have this authority.

folks lie on the rest of the questions sometimes,,, the word got out long ago, at least to those of us with FFL's

pee test for a firearm, doubt that will ever happen, and there are other ways to get past a pee test, which is way a lot of places went to mouth swabs

Not true, usually 90 days as the THC resides in the fat of humans. Had one client who tested 6 months out! I was certified to do the tests and the ones I used were pretty accurate. Two tests I administered was a "spot" and the send away for exact detail analysis for court. Get caught lying on the form and club fed for 5 years!

Just reciting what I'd always heard. As employee's of the refinery we had to take pee test very often at random and were never given a notice. Not even a 5 minute notice and were not allowed to leave the supervisors sight after being informed. A lot of times I had just gone to the bathroom and had to hurriedly drink coffee to try to produce something. Oddly enough they never tested for alcohol and a couple of employees were addicted and had it on their breath, even at 5:00 in the mornings (coming in for day shifts). You could smell them 20' away but the management always denied there was any concern.
