Famous left-wing activist reveals mental illness.

Bruce Springsteen admits he's been taking "a variety" of drugs for his mental problems for many years; now his fans will love him even more.

I guess that explains why his music sucked?

Hum ... Any of you actually know anyone with significant mental disease? What to do? What to do? Old hospital I did Clinical Pastoral Education at was a state mental hospital for the criminally insane. Cute place. Built back when they really knew how to help people. Chain them down. Hose them down. You know!!! So ... whether its some left-wing nut job or a right wing talk show host ... if drug therapy will help them then that's a good thing. Just can't see any reason to be dumping on someone b/c of mental disease. No one would choose such a problem. No one would choose it for their family member. Personally I like the music of Springsteen. Lot of it is good stuff. I've been listening to Rush since 1998. Go Rush! I say if drug therapy helps them function, then more power to them. It doesn't matter if they are so extreme that one doesn't have a left arm and the other doesn't have a right arm. JMHO. Sincerely. bruce.

Probably been taking non-prescription ones, that's where his problems come from.
Mental illness ? Let's define mental health first.

Of course not...not if they mind their own business. But when they take it upon themselves to influence national politics, and hide their "problem" from the public, don't you believe it's different situation?

Pain meds are somewhat different than mental problem meds. Compare apples to apples.

                      Favorite Springsteen tunes:

                      Rosalita
                      Promised Land

Neither of which are in the Spotify top 10 for Bruce, so there's no accounting for taste in some people.

As a young man growing up in NJ next to the town Springsteen grew up in I was a big fan of his. I could relate to his music. I had every thing he sung. I ceased being a fan when he started using the stage to voice his political opinion. I'm a little disappointed in Willie supporting Beto, but I'll get over that.

I liked The River or whatever that was called. Old stuff. Maybe that's what depressed him. I hate to watch him play guitar.

You haven't been paying attention if this surprises you. I sure as hell won't get over it. Up to about 40 yrs ago, before he took on his hippie-persona, I'd seen him several times in small clubs, but for the last 25 yrs, that bastard has made no secret of being a committed left-winger. Not as flagrantly as loud-mouth show-off drugged-up Springsteen, but it was obvious.

Your correct. I don't pay attention. I just like Willie.
