Legal pot moves to harder drugs

Well, sort of. At least in Denver anyway. They legalized "opium dens" this time.

Denver City Council approved plans Monday night to open a supervised injection site where IV drug-users could inject heroin near staff standing by with the life-saving antidote to opioid overdose.

As a side issue but related. Garry McCarthy, Chicago's former top cop who Rahm threw under the bus to save his own skin, is speaking out against legalized pot in IL. Claims the nine states which have legalized pot are experiencing a rise in money laundering, robberies, and shootings.
I'm staying tuned to see what develops from the claims.

The more people you can keep drugged, the fewer will know what you're up to.

Rather ironic, one of the arguments for high taxes on tobacco is that it will discourage consumption. Never heard of anyone getting high on tobacco and causing an accident.
"Stoner" will become the new all-purpose epithet,

The irony will continue. How can you make one drug legal, and leave others illegal?

              We already do it. Alcohol!

              Age Limits
              Restrict Hours of Sale
              Restrict Posession
              Penalize its indulgence
Regulate its sale, production, and distribution
              Dictate export and importation
Tax it to fund education against its abuse

And to think Canada just legalized pot. Our Prime Minister is a member of the Liberal Party and they have a long history of doing anything and everything in their quest to buy votes. In the case of pot it was an attempt to seduce younger voters.

Well, Colorado likes to be on the cutting edge of liberalism. Our new governor elect has a gay lover. I do see in the paper that they won’t sully the governors mansion, choosing instead to live among their fawning admirers in Boulder.

The only modern (?) society that has defeated the widespread addiction to opioids is China. They imposed the death penalty on anyone using or possessing the drug for any reason. Regards, Clark

Drug dealing carries the death penalty in Singapore, too. And in Singapore, it only takes two years from imposition of sentence to execution.

make it all legal, and available to anyone over 18, don;t tax it to death so the black market dries up,

                        alcohol, weed, drugs,
                        all of it,

let the folks in prison go that were prosecuted for it,

                        with the caveat,
set up rules, and if those rules are violated, (underage sales, DUI's, etc etc) and you get life,
                        as in ended,

so go do your drugs, but if you rob some lil ole lady, or kill a neighbor, or steal or whatever, to get high, you are ended,,,

                        think that will work?

                        yep, won't happen

Taxation is what CREATES black markets -- when the legal cost exceeds the risk, people will buy untaxed goods and take their chances.
