One of the staples of all TV travel shows to Turd World countries is a visit to the local open air market where everything is exposed to swarms of flies & unwashed hands. Yet only tourists careless enough to eat uncooked food (or cooked food afterwards handled by contaminated hands) get sick--an example of the resistance of natives to such diseases...which they bring with them into this country.
