    The Presidency

Just "sane" replies, not political B.S. please!
Why would anyone want this now thankless task, I sure wouldn't. I can think of better ways to spend my time and more constructive. Personally, I would be afraid that I would punch someone out or physically show them the door out of the White House. My wife says that I am too direct, too combative but that is just the way I am and have been for over 40 years. Never learned the art of turning the other check I guess.

Hey Sam- You could lower your blood pressure by placing the Three Stooges on your 'Ignore List". Works wonders. Regards, Clark

Only the 1 job like it. And lots of people out there have no hard skills, have to make their living telling others what to do, or selling their vision.

The office of POTUS means different things to different candidates. First and foremost it's the pinnacle of a political career. Only four to eight more years and retire with all the perks and benefits. A place in history.

Several reasons for wanting the job itself.
          1. A selfish desire for power and fame.
          2. A belief one will make a difference.
3.Believing one can actually make a positive difference.
4.Talked into taking the helm to keep other hacks from sailing the country into the rocks.

          Sub-categorize any way you wish.

Forget the others--these two suffice. Not that "doing good" as you see it is excluded--it may be the best way of expressing your power & insuring your fame, & best of all, making your enemies eat dirt. Same motivation applies to all political offices; even a worthless no-account like that freak Ocasio automatically becomes a VIP when they win a House seat, eligible for SS protection & enjoying the multitude of gold-plated perks that Congress members have given themselves. Remember the black woman House member who wanted at the last minute a 1st Class airline seat when all were filled? So the airline threw one of the white 1st Class passengers off to make way for the bitch?

It's a thankless task if you're a Republican, so for Trump to
take on the mantle when he certainly didn't need the aggravation
which he knew would come with the job, tells me that what he's
doing is trying to stop the country going down the socialistic toilet.
Nothing more. He loves his country.
As for me, I'd only take the job if Christie Brinkley came with it.

A synopsis as to what is wrong with America. Just suppose for a moment that an incredibly rich person, comes along and just wants to help America. He sacrifices much of his time on earth and a great deal of his wealth to do just that.

And overnight becomes a dipsheet, low life, moron, racist, sexist, no good SOB.

Forget about Trump. We are not talking about him, we are talking about somebody else in the future... no matter if his name is Vanderbilt, Carnegie, or Jesus Christ, According to the 3 Stooges + JB would still call him a dipsheet, low life, moron, racist, sexist, no good SOB.

                  Fook em all.

I would not use the word dipsheet.

It's not the first time I have been lumped into a clique against my wishes. Some people have mail rooms with only two pigeon holes marked "With me" and "Against me".

When I was young and naieve, I thought being a cop would be a good career. Back then cops were considered your friend mostly and received respect. But, when I went thru a citizens police academy, I found out different. After several ride alongs, I told the cops I was with that I would never ever want to be one. Certain people of color have absolutely no respect for them causing problems at every turn.
