Which means....?
I remember stories about sailors who would eat their shoe polish. Some inhale spray paint, glue you name it.
Must be the cold weather that makes Russians and Europeans so weird. There was a story about a guy in this country just recently who was driving while "huffing". He went off the road and killed a couple of beautiful people. Allen is right. If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.Comment

Not Utopia by any means, but a place where whites aren't vilified for indulging in their "white privilege," & being black or homo isn't regarded as a status symbol. And no Sodomite parades to disrupt your drive to work. Must be acknowledged that Putin's Utopia is backward in many ways--for ex., they haven't even "advanced" to the great achievement of unisex rest-rooms. And what's a Russian visitor to the US to make of all the strange symbols made up of interlocking rings now posted prominently in so many public areas?Comment

Unisex bathrooms? I forgot urinating was a unique activity."The first gun that was fired at Fort Sumter sounded the death-knell of slavery. They who fired it were the greatest practical abolitionists this nation has produced." ~BG D. UllmanComment

CH, given how you feel about gays and minorities, something you're not shy about expressing, they'd be foolish not to view you with heavily guarded suspicion, if not outright vilification. Fortunately you don't believe in an afterlife, for good or ill, because you've shared with us a substantial list of potential torments that could await in the beyond.Comment

JB, CH liked it better when certain groups knew their place and were largely invisible to his eyes. He doesn't see that happening anymore and this bothers him because he perceives that their improved social status somehow comes at his expense. My guess is that this is just a feeling that he has, that he would be hard-pressed to point out how he has suffered harm at the hands of now visible minorities.
Remember this Milwaukee kid, though the son of a shop supervisor with non-union views, had friends whose dads were on the other side. And my older brother had union factory work for awhile. To those union white guys in the north, every good paying union job that went to a colored was a waste. I could have grown up thinking that way but chose, and still choose, not to.
If someone can do the job, then who cares what is or isn't in their underwear, who they sleep with, where they pray, or their skin color. Can they do the job? If they can't, then those things shouldn't protect them. But if they can, then shut up already and let them work. Is that liberal? Don't think so. To me that's rock-solid Randian thinking.Last edited by togor; 12-10-2018, 07:51.Comment
