No Good Deed goes unpunished ...

So I guess the thing to do if you want to keep your job at CVS
is to let every Tom Dick and Harriette walk in, help themselves
to whatever they want and walk out. The people in charge of
keeping the shelves stocked will be kept busy and on overtime,
the Store's profits will take a tumble, but the Employees' jobs
will be safe and their customers will be happy with their free drugs.

CVS sees it as the impending legalities cost more than the stolen goods. They aren't the only ones with a "hands off" policy.

Exactly! No more than any other major retailer, CVS is not the least bit interested in stopping relatively minor thefts irregardless of the nature of what is taken when the consequence is harm to the overall corporate bottom line. Immediate short term results are prioritized over any long term damage done to the corporation. Sincerely. bruce.

irregardless ?? That is a double negative, very popular with TV presenters
a while back until someone told them it was extremely bad grammar.

Apple adopted that "let them take it" and so 'they' go from store to
store "taking it" - stuff worth thousands.

A couple of USA bashers in the thread. DT and Comrade Greyjoy. DT is saying that the CVS corporation doesn't know how to make business decisions, apparently.
