Find a case where the tattletale is sentenced before testifying at the trial of the accused? 99.9% of the time sentencing is delayed until after the trial of the accused. That way the sentencing Judge can weigh the effectiveness of the cooperating witness. Just another lever to force the poor rat to lie to save his butt.

In this case, some people believe that this proves Cohen's testimony is not of much importance. Others will tell you that it is proof that Trump has committed the worst crime in the history of man by paying somebody to shut their mouth. But, that is not a crime... anywhere. If somebody knows you have HIV, and you pay him/her/it to shut up... is that a crime? If you pay somebody to get on TV and try to get people to vote a certain way... Is that trying to "slant," the election. You bet it is and that's why we call them campaign ads.

Cohen chose to be forthcoming with Mueller but not with the NY Southern District. Consequently the respective prosecutorial recommendations to the judge. Cohen chose to plead guilty. He is hardly a victim here, unless it is of his own prior judgement.

I agree with Red on this one. Listened to quite a few prosecutors today on TV and they all agree that he is being squeezed and is also a sleaze ball. They all stated that you never get your witness to appear in court and admit all kind of crimes and crooked deals and get sentenced before he testifys against the person you are really trying to get evidence on for a case. Yeah, Cohen was forthcoming, trying to save his crooked ass. I won't say any more about this sentencing because I have heard enough today to convince me that he should have got more than 3 years.
