I elected to start a new Muppet thread rather than continue to veer off-subject of Dogtag's post about Lily the illegal.

How many of you remember Kermit's humble start-up in stardom? Here is a collection of Wilkins and Red Diamond coffee commercials from 1957-61 by Jim Henson. I remember the Red Diamond commercials but not the Wilkins. Guess they never sold that brand here.

Here is the REAL Kermit the frog before the Muppets. Not suitable for todays viewing since queers and liberal views are what are patronized.

We didn't see those brands in Illinois. We did see the same commercials, but for Kraml Milk. This one is only a few seconds long:

BTW, when he created the green frog Kermit, he named the puppet after a friend, or a coworker....it was someone he knew
When I first met my buddy Kermit I asked if he was named after Kermit Roosevelt. Blew his mind as people always ask about Kermit the frog.

I remember them in '56 or '57. The 2 puppets in the Wilkins coffee commercial were "wilkins and wontkins". I think Wilkins coffee is still sold in the Washington DC area. It was black and white in those days so they had Kermit's delivery but were more primitive.
