Then he should have been a janitor instead of a policeman. He also told lies about his actions in previous interviews.

is this the one that retired with about $8000 a month retirement?

he should have been fired, and his retirement forfeited,

He should have been paraded naked down Mainstreet with his butt painted blue and hanged from a lamp post like the coward he is.

The case might get goofy. Previously it was ruled that police had no obligation to individuals. Only to the well being of the general public at large. Depends upon the judge to interpret that ruling with the circumstances before his bench.

True but many judges are bigger cowards than this a-hole. They shouldn't have the only and finale say in a case like this where people have died.

A good argument for the RKBA and CCW, if we can't rely on the taxpayer supported "professionals" then....

This is the guy who actually hid behind a cement wall with this pistol drawn and watched the whole thing go down.

Correction Sid. He listened. Where he had taken cover he couldn't see so therefore he couldn't watch.

Henning (Judge) rejected Piper’s argument (plaintiff's attorney), opining that Peterson had an “obligation to act reasonably” in response to the shooting.
The "reasonably" argument has been rejected. That's why I think this trial may get goofy. If it's reasonable for someone not to charge into a gunfight not knowing how many assailants are present and where they are....? See how this thing might go?

His job wasn't to protect the students there. His job was to protect the school and Broward county from bad publicity resulting from reports of disruptive students.

Even if it were true that he did not have a legal obligation to act, as an armed police officer in that situation he had a moral duty to act. Anyone who thinks that he should stand by while children are being murdered is so far down the moral toilet that words cannot begin to express how I feel. As it happens, the school is about a 20 minute drive from the place we rent in Florida. We did not hear the commotion but friends of ours who live a few miles down the road heard the sirens
