You Will Simply Not Believe This Law That Was Passed In Philadelphia!

I heard this being discussed on a local talk radio show today. Basically, here is what it is all about. If you are an elderly frail , person who is going into the hospital for several weeks or the same type of person who is going on vacation for the same time, here is what might happen. A low class minority squatter will somehow learn about this and then move into your home. When you return you are NOT ALLOWED TO THE THROW THE SQUATTER OUT OR ASK THE POLICE TO DO THIS. There is this law on the books to protect them. Your only recourse is to hire a private lawyer and then sue to have squatter removed. THIS PROCESS CAN TAKE ANYWHERE FROM 3 TO 6 MONTHS!

They have also found that these squatters never move in to some person's home that has strong sons or strong close friends. It is also quite obvious that someone in City Hall is tipping these people off.

This is just one more reason not to live in this totally corrupt and dangerous place.

I have two dogs that are very protective of their home, not to mention the three outside cats! Delivery people will not come up the ramp unless someone comes out on the porch first.

Philadelphia has no law against breaking and entering? They do but it doesn't apply when someone yells "homeless"?

To some degree it is like this everywhere. If you rent a house out and the renters stop paying it takes months sometimes to have them evicted. Same for bank foreclosures. I've been told that if someone squatting in your rental home is a single mother the sheriff's department will not issue an eviction notice at all.

What makes it additionally bad in this Philadelphia situation is that this same law would be in effect for 2nd or vacation homes. Plus the squatters would be running up your utility bills and ransacking and stealing your possessions.

Lies, lies and more lies... The last bit of the article that our propagandist Nazi quotes, says:

After hearing similar concerns and others, City Councilwoman Cherelle Parker on Thursday introduced a measure aimed at narrowing and clarifying the new law so that rightful homeowners like Simpkins won’t be prosecuted.

The bill would also bar victims of domestic violence, sexual harassment or stalking from being deemed criminal and defiant trespassers.

So under the "new Law," it is ok for somebody to steal your home because they claim they were sexually harassed at a party they attended in 1963 with Teddy Kennedy.

The Porter/Simpkins case cited in the story doesn't focus on the fact the property was wrongly auctioned while it was still in probate. That should have been noticed in discovery when checking the title for liens etc. Too much is unclear. A partial story rushed to press...yet again.
The new law expedites hearings where the police do not get involved. If I came home and someone was in my house the police would be called immediately. Breaking and entering, criminal trespass, criminal damage to property, burglary.....
Those are the charges I would file. Then see what shakes out in court after the bums are removed.

Back in the 50s England had this squatter protection law.
When my sister and Brother In Law came back from vacation
they found about a dozen squatters in their house. My B.I.L
was a no nonsense guy and he went to the East End of London
where he hired a bunch of thugs at a hundred pounds each.
He hired a big truck which the thugs drove to the house, threw
the squatters plus belongings in and drove them to Salisbury Plain
where they dumped them in the middle of nowhere.
No endless legalities, minimal fuss.
