Why is human life held in such high esteem ? ...

Why is it that if a Tiger kills a peasant in India the animal is shot
when there are billions of Indians but only 4,000 Tigers ?
Not all Humans are deserving of such reverence. There are serial
killers, pedophiles who rape and murder infant girls, yet these
get their day in court. The now dead Tiger enjoyed no such luxury.
Men such as the one in this story are of no benefit at all to the
society that supports them and many are far worse than this
particular one, but like him, their lives are regarded as sacred
unless something they did is so abhorrent that they need to be
locked away for life or strapped on a gurney.
The answer to the question in the headline is because humans
are in charge, all other life forms are just animals and of no
consequence, much like politicians are in charge and all others
are just peasants and of no consequence.

In reality, human life is one of the cheapest commodities on earth, however much the bleeding hearts pretend otherwise. Think of the millions killed within the last few yrs in Iraq, Yemen, Congo, Somalia, Burma, other Turd World places. Who cares? Except the professional bleeding hearts supported by the UN & all the other phony-baloney "human rights" orgs.

But no matter how many millions are killed, the world's population continues to soar, pushing into extinction the planet's other life-forms.

Humans are mentioned in the Bible as being in the likeness of God and animals are here to serve us.

I don't recall seeing animals waiting tables at any restaurant I visited.

Those of us who are pro-life would argue that it isn't.

“Babies are not democrats”? But democrats are babies. I’m confused. (And so are they.)

Guess it depends upon your faith.

We, humans, share the Earth with millions of different creatures. So what does the Bible say about our intended relationship with animals? What really sets us apart from the rest of creation? Read this collection of scripture quotes relating to animals to find out!

I see in your profile you currently have six friends. With A statement like that and I was one of the six I think I would withdraw myself as a friend. Just my 2 cents. Believe what you so desire.

Somebody tell me this: if this planet had FAR fewer humans living on it--50% less, let's say--& many more wild animals, would it be a better or a worse place?

My own opinion is that ecologically speaking we'd be in a better spot. Some people disagree. I know a guy who would see every wolf shot in the US rather than see even one calf taken anywhere. The idea that other top predators exist just rubs him the wrong way.
