    Public assistance

With February not far away, if funds are not available will Nancey and Chuck fold to President Trump on the border or hold out? Hungry people will do strong things in one's behalf.

Don't know what is going to happen. What I do know is my son who is a US Coastguardsman isn't getting paid and I hold both parties accountable. The republicans could have had the balls to push a funding bill through before the elections and I don't see the Democrats yielding.

Hopefully it ends soon. I cant assign equal blame, but if the President now feels he can build the wall by executive decree...there should be no obstacle in the way to signing the bi-partisan bill as its always existed.

I do hope your son, his colleagues, and many other Americans can return to a normal life not held hostage to an uncompromising government.

When people realize they won't get their tax returns a week after filing it could get ugly.

By the same turn of events if this budget fight continues beyond April 15 the same employees who issue refund checks shouldn't mind if tax owed funds come in late since they theoretically won't be there? I bet not.

Screw the hungry. I would expect April 15th would be a real line in the sand.

Air travelers have a formidable capacity for suffering, but if the TSA situation goes from bad to worse, that could be another pressure point.

When does a "gov shutdown" become a real Government Shutdown? Is there a rule book on this?

No rule book but eventually peoples lives will be endangered. The government does not respond well to disruptions to the routine and there a lot of single point failures.

Yep. Looks like something big is going to have to happen first.

One hopes it is not too "big" to move their Kester.
