I kid you not! How about taxing the air that we breathe? Read all about it.

Wait till they start installing pay toilets in public buildings and schools.

That would be an improvement over the current crap-where-you-are policy in California.

It always struck me as odd that American cities had no public toilets.
People wanting to pee had to seek out Dept Stores.
London had public toilets everywhere - Victorian era - very ornate,
always clean, usually with an attendant. For 3d you'd get soap and
towel for "Wash & Brush Up" and for other than a pee, a 1d would
unlock the brass lock on the mahogany door.
When I was about 10, my Dad took me to all the historic sites around
London of which there were many, and he seemingly navigated the
journey so that he could take a leak in each and every one of those
          splendid conveniences.

Newsome is going to make "Moonbeam" look good! Sure glad I left that state 25 years ago. What a shame though, it was a wonderful place when I first lived there in the 50's & 60's

Yes, and Chicago has been charging extra tax on bottled water for several years now without opposition. Soft drink tax was a different story. That was fought and even called a racist tax.

Wait a minute. Clean water is just simply a necessity for any community be it a unincorporated hamlet or a major city. It is not free. Like anything else, the costs must be paid. So, if no one pays, or if the actual costs of using water are shifted from one user to another, etc., then just exactly how can clean water be available to anyone who is not within rope and bucket range of a source? Sincerely. bruce.
