"You can't touch water twice" Marcus Aurelius

And he was right. Sometimes a man speaks words that seem insignificant. Take Lincoln's Gettysburg Address for example. At the time, it was ridiculed as being too short and irrelevant but came to be possibly the greatest speech ever given by an American. I am not a religious person, I believe in God but also believe that what I call "TV preachers," and Bible thumpers are fakes and charlatans. Franklin Graham Jr's speech in November 2012 is now becoming widely circulated and I believe that 100 years from now, will still be studied and marveled as "predictive."

The American Dream ended last night in Ohio.

The second term of Barack Obama will be the final nail in the coffin for the legacy of the white Christian males who discovered, explored, pioneered, settled and developed the greatest Republic in the history of mankind.

A coalition of Blacks, Latinos, feminists, gays, government workers, union members, environmental extremists, the media, Hollywood, uninformed young people, the forever needy, the chronically unemployed, illegal aliens, and other fellow travelers has ended Norman Rockwell’s America.

The US Constitution has been replaced with Saul Alinsky’s ‘Rules for Radicals’ and Chicago shyster David Axelrod, along with international socialist George Soros, will be pulling the strings on their black puppet to bring us into the New World Order.

The Republicans ran two candidates who couldn’t even win their own home states, while circus clown Chris Christie helped Obama over the top with a glowing ‘post-Sandy’ tribute that elevated the phony ‘Commander-in Chief’ to Mother Teresa status.

People like me are now completely politically irrelevant; I will never again comment on or concern myself with the aforementioned Republican coalition, which has surrendered our culture, our heritage and our traditions without a shot being fired.

You will never again outvote the people who gave Obama four more years. It will take individual acts of defiance and massive displays of civil disobedience to get back the rights we have allowed them to take away. It will take zealots, not moderates; zealots who will never ‘reach across the aisle’ to RINOs, to right this ship and restore our beloved Country to it’s former status.

Those who come after us will have to risk ‘their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor’ to bring back the Republic that this generation has timidly frittered away due to white guilt and political correctness.

My wife and I will now put our anti-ACLU Nativity Scene on display, and start wishing everyone a “Merry Christmas”. And enjoy the rest of our lives in our 50’s-throwback Village of (Redacted) Lakes, here in (Redacted) Harbor.

Speaking of predictions, some say that The Onion really nailed it for 2016 in this video put out the day after the 2012 election. For those that don't know....it's supposed to be satire.

That's why we elected Donald Trump. He is a truly great President and is doing his best to change all of this left wing crap. I watched his presentation on Fox News today and he silenced all of the schmucks who have been critical of him. I wish that everyone here could have heard it.

His biggest problem are the intellectual midgets and Rinos in the Republican party.

        I don't recall Lincoln's Address being ridiculed.
The guy before him gave an extremely lengthy and boring speech.
He later congratulated Lincoln and praised his short but eloquent one.

Can't recall the name and details.

"You can't touch water twice" is absolutely meaningless.

It was Edward Everett who was once on the $50 bill.

The orb of rage apparently switched parties as soon as Trump beat Hillary.

              Hatreds, ...

Red, as much as I might agree with you at times and enjoy your light hearted, belligerence, I don't necessarily agree with the OP - the subversives can be outvoted. And it is impossible to compare virtually anything to The Gettysburg Address. Credited with being one of the great orators of his time, Everett said of Lincoln's address after his; "I should be glad if I could flatter myself that I came as near to the central idea of the occasion, in two hours, as you did in two minutes." (and now you know why it took him 2 hours (though Lincoln actually spoke for closer to 3 minutes - take that as you will, ...)). Lincoln apparently replied simply that he was glad to know the speech was not a "total failure".

But I do think these are, or could become, dangerous times. I would say the joke of the giant ball of hatred became real, but it was for liberals after '16. They still cannot grasp why Trump got elected and would deny that they could have had anything to do wit it, which is why they continue down the same road, ... But the lesson they took away after 8 years of obama and the fact that their idea of utopia hadn't sprung from the ethos was that they didn't have enough power (over the 'deplorables' that stood in their way). The solution is that they need more power, ... all of the power. Power has become their only goal to the exclusion of all else. The current dems, to gain that power, have turned to the radical far left which actually uses hatred as a political tool to motivate their base. They think they can control it but history, if they cared to look at any example (heck, even the original Star Trek did an episode about it), would show them how ignorant they really are. If they fail to center themselves with the population and stop inciting further hatreds (yard signs that say; 'Hate has no home here' are themselves, 'hate' signs, ... yup. Just let it sink in), they will continue to alienate the center which ultimately decides all elections, and they will lose. The candidate who speaks to the center best will win, as always. The way liberals are abusing democrats right now (go ahead, pass another full term abortion law) the dems are turning their backs on the center and they are going to not just lose but lose big.

They have two years to change it and stop catering to the screaming far left that alienates them from the center of the country. What are the chances, ... We are all watching.

              AMHO Best all.
Far enough right to just be, ... right.

Someone ought to mail that to the democrats. No, wait, that would help them.

Everyone loves a centrist running in an election, when their side is incumbent. You see the same statements today, "...a vote for Schultz is a vote for the other side."

Ultimately a centrist will have a hard time, the fringe on either side won't stay quiet long enough to consider the center an option.

It will be interesting to see if Trump has a primary challenger. Will the Bull Moose rear it's head again?

It's true. Extremists only have one flank to guard as a practical matter.
