    Memory of the Camps

A Frontline program from years ago with the Hitchcock camp footage. Important refresher I think if only to understand the post-war urgency assigned by the US to international institutions like the UN. Unfortunately, as we have seen recently in Syria and Iraq, people are still easily capable of incredible cruelty to others.

IMO this video is too important to mingle with one's frustrations. Hoping others can feel the same way.

            Everyone should agree on that.

Humans have the killer instinct just like animals, insects and spiders.
If we and the other species didn't kill each other, we'd be piled as
              high as Mount Everest.

Which I agree with. I've said here; If it wasn't for War, Pestilence and Starvation, we'd be up to our asses in humans.

Perhaps it should be pointed out that the British invented Concentration Camps and used them during the Second Boer War. About 25% of the inmates in those British camps died.

Good observation about British camps. Perhaps also worth noting that the Liberal opposition was criticizing them almost from the beginning. The Germans, brooking no such opposition, took things to a whole new level.

In WWII, about 27 percent of white prisoners of the Japanese died in captivity, About 25 percent of Boers died in the British concentration camps.
