Kamala Harris wants slavery reparations paid to blacks

How much more money are we supposed to give them? All we ever hear is gimme, gimme, gimme.

What about the whites that have been slaves and the native Indians who were slaves?

I'm all for it -- and also for those of us whose ancestors served in the Union Army. I'm due a double share.

Best quote this year. Could be a Monty Python bit.

The sad truth is that reparations have been being paid since the Clinton Administration. Multiple programs from several Federal Administrations have been handing out large checks for questionable reasons. The most egregious program was the Agriculture program to pay the descendants of black farmers that may have been subjected to discrimination. These recipients were paid millions just for certifying that some member of their family had sometime in the past engaged in farming, (or gardening). It is as if black farmers were the only ones who had a tough time in the last 100 years, NOT. Regards, Clark

I agree. They deserve it - those born in the 18th century that is.
Best pay 'em before they croak.

too far gone, no way to prove all that would be due any $$$ if they did approve it,

and the numbers that would fake the paperwork to prove Slave ancestry would be likely double what there could actually be

i'm all for THAT. my family's farm was burned for hiding runaway slaves and by the time the civil war was over, the oldest surviving male in my family was a nine year old boy. the rest had been killed in the war

My point exactly -- two of my great-grandfathers served in the Union Army. Where are MY reparations?

Here's a thought -- how about the people who BENEFITTED from slavery pay the reparations -- like the northern manufacturing states and the Democrat Party?

Vernon buys the slaveholders-as-victims-of-slavery-too narrative. Figures he would.

He has been banging the drum that his geographic location makes him the object of bigotry. Poor guy cant catch a break.
