    I Quote .... " I didn't need to do this "

    " I didn't need to do this "

Yup... thats what he said.... so does that mean the national emergency he called was..." fake news " ?

How strongly do all y'all feel about the Constitution now ? ....

maybe we should amend it ....

I would argue the founders didn't go to such lengths to frame a system of limited government with checks and balances and then accidentally forget to add the phrase "but if the executive declares an emergency, then all of this goes out the window". Especially when the executive admits it's not an actual emergency.

Anyhow, King Friday XIII feels Trump's pain

And he could have said, with total credibility, "I hated to do this, but was forced against my will by the intractability of the radical Dems." His self-defeating mindlessness is jaw-dropping. Can you imagine how the hearts of his staff dropped when they heard these unbelievably foolish words? Of course, it will be their hopeless job to try to explain he didn't really mean what he said.

Actually, opposition to a monolith on the southern border is a mainstream position. But radicals on both sides of the issue make the most noise. Another example of how Trump's reliance on wedge issues and incitement as a substitute for sober policy makes everything harder than it might otherwise be.

No, that isn't right either--what has "sober policy" accomplished in all the decades this brazen flaunting of our laws has been going on? NOTHING! Making a "federal case" out of it, as Trump has done, is the ONLY way to bring it out in the open. But it's sad he has to thoughtlessly shoot his mouth off in a way that hurts his cause & mine.

Maybe Trump doesn't care about a second term or even finishing this term in office!

I could buy that if some of his wrath was aimed at employers, including his own industry. But it isn't.
