Now this guy really was a Nazi ...

So, Adolf bought the place in 1933. Must have cost a pretty
Deutschmark even back then, and seeing as how his civvy
job was a wallpaper hanger and then a corporal in WW1.
Where did he get the money ? Taxpayers I'll bet.

"Was Hitler a Nazi?" A coarse but humorous rhetorical question. DT hasn't lost his dry wit.

The pictures were probably taken by Heinrich Hoffman, Hitler's official photographer and a member of his inner circle. Taxpayers-natuerlich ! Hitler did OK after 1933, Germany's best-selling-if unread-author, he received royalties from having his portrait on postage stamps and was eventually declared exempt from taxation.

Exactly -- Mein Kampf sold millions of copies, many of them purchased by the Government to give to newly weds and so on.

Probably not. The great irony is, a liberal professor who actually read Mien Kampf would be attacked. Somehow ignorance is politically correct, and historical research is racist.

A lot of ignorance about Nazis expressed on this board, full agreement there.

I recall reading that Hitler made a big deal of declining his salary as Chancellor but and its a big but, virtually every family in the country was expected to buy Mein Kampf and he made a huge amount of money on royalties.
