Getting on in years can be a pain in the butt ...

especially when you go to the DMV to renew your license
and you find you can't read those stupid little letters on
the back wall. I asked the guy when in real life I would
run across tiny little letters like that whilst driving. He
apparently didn't know, nor did he care. Instead he gave
me a form to take to an eye doctor. So, after much back
and forth between the DMV and the doctor, they scheduled
me for an out on the road driving test. I thought it rather
humiliating and explained to the test guy that I'd been
driving for sixty years, drove a truck in the army and a
mini cab in London and as icing on the cake, I had never
hit anything or anybody. He wasn't impressed. Well, I showed
him - I passed with just two mistakes - one, pulling over to
the curb without signaling - two; leaving same curb without
signaling. (There was no other car in sight).
You're allowed 20 mistakes. Makes you wonder what kind of
drivers make 20 mistakes and are considered safe to legally
go gallivanting around on the highways.

I had to take the written test, required after age 70. I studied the DMV book while my wife took her chemotherapy and passed(barely)

A real test would have them parking between 2 white lines!

When exiting a parking lot I've seen a lot of old women who back up till they bump the car behind them, then leave. Lines don't mean a thing to them.

I find the backup camera in my new pickup is a great assist in parallel parking. There are two colored lines in the picture, representing the path of the rear tires. Just shave the curb with those lines, and don't go backward beyond the red section.

After having backed into trees on camping trips my new truck has a backup camera. I might help some.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

My wife and daughter gave me one for Christmas for my Ford F150 Super Cab, it comes in handy.
