Victor Davis Hansen Speaking About World War II

This is an outstanding presentation by one of America's greatest military scholars. I learned a lot and enjoyed this and so will you.

Yes it is. Have read a bit of WW II . history and this book really condensed and explained why many things and events occurred. It is titled The Second World Wars
Available on Amazon used. The infighting among the Brass of both Allied and Axis leaders is quite enlightening

Yep -- for example, why the hell did we invade Italy? Churchill called it "the soft underbelly of Europe" -- hundreds of miles of mountains to fight thru! Couldn't the man read a topographic map?

On top of Churchill was our General Clark of better know as flashbulb Clark. After the was some of his staff wanted to bring charges against him but the legal system said no. Have to agree, Italy made no sense due to the natural terrain that the Germans had. IMHO southern France made more sense as with Normandy this involved the Germans in a pincer move.

Exactly right -- land in the south of France and put Patton in charge -- with instructions to drive to the Swiss border and trap all German forces in Italy.
