I remember when I was in Egypt in the '50s, we would go out along the Coastal Highway into the Western Desert, where they fought during the African Campaign. There were all sorts of buildings -- set up for administrative purposes, barracks, and so on. You could tell which side built which building by looking in the toilets and urinals -- The Germans and Italians painted Churchill's picture in the porcelain facilities, and the British painted Hitler's.
