The Gun victory that was, now isn't ...

Not sure if it's the same Judge who's changed his mind,
or another Judge who disagrees with the first Judge.
    Doesn't really matter and I don't particularly care. I
figure if you can't take care of things with a ten round
magazine plus one in the chamber, then you'd best
    buy yourself a shotgun.

A federal judge in California has halted the sale of high-capacity magazines in the state, just a week after he ruled that the state's ban on them was

Oh, it's the same Judge (he must have seen the light)

Sounds fishy to me. Someone must have leaned on that judge really hard. Maybe the California AG made him an offer he couldn't refuse, ala the Godfather.

read elsewhere that he put the injunction or whatever it is called in place to placate those that are having a hissy until the case can be heard in a higher court,

in other words, it is a temporary thing,

and also read that one company alone sold 350K AR magazines to CA in that week,

        just the one company,

imagine that number would quadruple or more if you counted other rifle and pistol mags, (as well as all the suddenly legal mags that appeared from storage, closets, etc etc)

Those newly purchased magazines are now legal to own.
Not legal to re sell them within CA.
Whether or not you can actually use them - I've no idea
although probably not a good idea within sight of a cop at the range.

Outright bans don't work. If CA wants fewer big mags out there, the tried-and-true technique is a bunch of regulatory hoops that only guys with time & money will bother to jump through. For example they could take a trick from the abortion banners and make anyone who wants to buy a hi cap mag sit through a class describing the carnage of mass shootings in which such mags were used. Classes funded by a surcharge levied on the mags themselves. It would work like a charm and not get tossed by any judge.

People's Republic of Boulder passed a total ban on ARs. You can put all the surrendered ARs in the bed of my '95 S-10. And not overload the springs. And I think that's a county wide ban, not just in the city. I've started looking at the better jigs for finishing 80% lowers.
