So stupid. Just raise the minimum wage to doctors pay and watch people continue to drop out of school at age 16. Soon prices will go up on everything and reduce the spending power of those who just got the ill gotten gains of the raise. A democrat born every minute.
Gee, who could have seen this coming?

That and compelling employers to offer fringe benefits-medical, i.e.-to full time employees.
If you want to get a Leftist riled, point out that a tax cut is the same as a pay raise. -
Why aren't they raising the price of goods, like the resident economists demand?"The first gun that was fired at Fort Sumter sounded the death-knell of slavery. They who fired it were the greatest practical abolitionists this nation has produced." ~BG D. UllmanComment

Many business will simply go to machines whenever possible, same for field work. In many factories now it is becoming more and more mechanized, such as robo welders. Magnetic tracks now pull carts around floors while machines sort and retrieve from bins. In a kitchen, a precut steak is dropped down to cook, a sensor watches the cooking and turns when appropriate, place on plate to push further down the line. In the field fewer and fewer people are needed to harvest and pack, machines can do it cheaper and quicker.

OK Allen .... very intersting topic .So stupid. Just raise the minimum wage to doctors pay and watch people continue to drop out of school at age 16. I run a small business that starts employees at 35% over minimum wage for general cleaners. I have been offering for quite some time over double minimum wage for peple just to come and learn some basic skills like swapping out a faucet or a toilet... patch a hole in drywall etc. ......guess what??
No takers ..... I've had to drop clients and this past tax season I'm down $ 17,000 due to the fact I can't get an American willing to show up 5 days a week .
Yet.... as I've mentioned here many times.... my whole residential block is filled with 20+ year olds still living with Mom And Dad..... and working part time at Target and Home Depot .... for $ 8.25 phComment

Why would anyone work for $8.25 an hour. We the Taxpayer, allow them more money if they don't work (in govt. benefits) still free phones , Hud, food stamps, medicaid and lots more. I know us hard working people have had it with this, but congress does nothing about the problem. Maybe we need to work on who we have elected? I have sent letters to all my Lawmakers and received responses from most.Speak up and send emails and letters! Power of the pen is stronger than the sword.Comment

You have a good point -- the government has created the society in which we live, one where it is easier and more profitable NOT to work.Comment
