    Any Cat Lovers?

    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/25/m...t-killing.html

Large scale killing of cats ongoing in Oz. Our boy Nacho, from the shelter, stays in the house.

Reminds me of a friend of mine who told how he lived in an apartment building. One of the other people living there had a cat -- which he would put out every evening. The cat would wait by the front door, and when someone entered the building, he'd slip past them and get into the building. Then he'd walk up and down the hall, yowling until someone -- never the owner -- couldn't stand it any longer and took him in.

One night, my friend just couldn't stand any more of that yowling, so he got up to let the cat into his apartment. But just as he opened t he door, another door down the hall opened, and a hand came out, picked up the cat and brought it into that apartment.

And just as my friend got back to bed, he heard a garbage disposal turn on.

OZ had a similar problem with feral\wild rabbits, and IIRC , Camels and Donkeys,

JD Jones used to test his wildcats down there, if I am remembering my late 70's early 80's reading

Like around here -- there's some foundation that gives grants for people to trap, spay or neuter cats -- and turn them loose where they were caught!

It would be nice if we could stick obnoxious people in a garbage disposal unit.

Probably a little off subject but just a reminder. Those of you who have cats. They need heart worm prevention medicine just like dogs. It is a myth that cats can not get heart worms due to mosquitos not being able to bite through the fur--they are still bitten on the nose and ears and DO get heart worms even if kept inside. I feel we lost a couple of cats to an early death this way. Healthy cats should live about 20 years.

Cats are better than girlfriend and wives. If they get tired of, you they just up and leave. They don't clean out your bank account, run up credit card balances, clean out the house, take the car, file restraining orders, milk you for child support, etc.

got plenty of Colonies around here,

I managed a store that had a Colony behind it,

some locals keep them feed and watered, and a small shelter,

I was lucky to have them, the resident rat\rodent population was nil,,,,

that is a good thing when you are in the food business

We don't feed the wild birds to feed the cats, so I run a shoot & shovel program. Never got one with a collar, just nearby barn cats and the occasional tom. Not even one a year, which is just as well because I don't like doing it. But then you get a problem cat and something has to be done. Just don't talk about it with my younger daughter.

Would you like some coyotes to keep down the human vermin, that I am willing to supply with free delivery!

Before everyone gets down on cats I would like to ask how many of you have actually tasted them? Cat, the other white meat.
When my Dad was in a German POW camp the guys would eat any cat that strayed into the compound. They called them "Pomeranian Rabbits"

That is understandable. Under the circumstances I imagine those POW's would eat anything they could find.

Oddly enough though you hear a lot about chinks eating dogs and rats but never cats?
