Since Texas has not a lot of firm border control, ie; the Rio Grande has none, illegals(or the new term; asylum seekers), drug runners, ect. just float across with impunity. The border patrol are now waiters who welcome the invaders. So why not just surrender(this time only) the lower tier of the country to Mexico. Who needs it anyway. I hate Tuscon. Most of southern New Mexico is just sand. New Orleans is going to sink anyway and cost a fortune. So let's say we draw a line from San Diego(we could go higher in CA perhaps) to Tallahassee and just lop everything below off. Just this one time though.

I know what your thinking; there will be some gerrymandering. Nope, we lose Orlando, too many Cubans too many bugs. Too much drugs and they're kind of gay a lot. We have to make sacrifices. It's perfect the way it is(incomplete as it is). South Phoenix gets lopped off. Way easier to build a wall in a straight line. We're only doing this once. Positively; once. We really mean it.

If you wanted to get rid of some more, I think that we in Canada would be willing to take Maine, Vermont and Washington State (although we would have to change the name of course) and perhaps those parts of South East Florida that get a million Canadian visitors every winter

The line should drop (like free1954 mentioned) to accommodate the LEGAL Mexicans we have already allowed. If we take them in we need a place for them, right? I'm taking about hundreds of miles though--it should based upon a %.

Mexico obviously isn't making good use of the territory and can't afford to support themselves so losing it shouldn't be much of a concern.

Until the U.S. enforces our laws, eliminates welfare and open borders we will be the tit of the world. This is global socialism and has already destroyed much of Europe like England and Germany while the African and Hispanic countries are on the receiving end and enjoying explosive populations.

The whole problem is the spread of democrats. In Europe they are the muslims. Here, they are also the muslims along with the Hispanics, Chinese and others that enter our country illegally plus the already low IQ citizens here. ALL areas that have become an undesirable place to live are over run or controlled by democrats whether it be the Southern Border, California, Washington, Illinois, Minnesota, Detroit, DC, Miami, New Orleans and many others. We can't just "wish" them all away.

Allen complaining about low IQ citizens is very Allen-y. The numbers are up, though. I guess we could call this Trump's "surge"? (Compared to Bush's in Iraq and Obama's in Afghanistan.) Trump's may have a longer term effect. Years from now we'll all be meeting Hispanics who came over in the Trump years. Years ago, at a Sears store, I remember thinking "where'd all these Mexicans come from?" Clinton and Bush years.

Sorry gents Texas is fighting to secure the border. I have a different solution. Mines, wire and other deadly traps along the current border. Declare the border a national security area and shoot to kill. You have to balls of brass to do it but its the only solution in my opinion.

Make the fence electric like farmers use for cattle. Plus, place razor wire on the top of the wall, where not already done. No illegal should be anywhere near the wall as both sides are on U.S. soil.

The detention tents (if any) should also never be on the U.S. side of the wall where the illegals can and will escape and infiltrate deeper into U.S. property.
