    The Commons

The old man said his son had just enough knowledge of the law to be dangerous so here goes.

Is there any common law or court decisions regarding restricting or interfering with speech on the Commons by private individuals or entities?

The bloody tech nerds have created a "commons" and now are goose stepping all over claiming it is their football and you can't play unless they like you. Saw a photo of the Huffpo board of directors and it looked like a fifth year reunion of a sorority from some girls college. Lots of diversity of thought there.

Can't remember if there is some precedent about this which would be useful for dealing with the digital dictators and their putsch against the 1st.

Are those servers really a Commons? A lot of private property and End User Agreements needed to get there and stay there. Calling it "free to the public" and demanding it be run the way someone likes per government rules sounds like a very leftist thing to do. The confusion is forgivable, however. Sili Valley offers these portals without fee in exchange for monetizing your information and selling it to advertisers. I'm aware of no traditional view of a Commons which follows this model.

And to the extent people get the boot, it's not for advocating low taxes or the second amendment. It's for saying Allen-y stuff or worse.

      Having trouble posting a link.

Search for "Is there a Tragedy of the Commons in Big Tech?"

Read it and ready to listen if there is a point now to be made from it.
