Next door neighbor moved in a year ago .... immediately on seeing him I turned to the wife who asked " You don't like him do you ?"
The answer was no... he had this cheesey fake evangelical smile and the 48 year old son with him was sporting jail house tatoos .... guess I do have some prejudice's
He soon came over to introduce himself as a pastor and offer an invite to services they hold in their living room . The services are held on Sat. as they are of some very early form of Judaism.... correct name for Jesus being Yaweh they will tell you. Yaweh being the name Jews stopped using centuries ago.
The "Pastor " next door has a church of Yaweh registered as a business in his name. Interestingly enough research shows he also has a Christian church registered as a business in his name in another nearby town . So I'm not sure really if he's a Christian or Jew..... maybe he isn't either. But business is business. And as it turns out he has a daughter who is the manager of another Pentacostal church registered as a business here in town that is attended by one of my employees.
Its a lot of fire and brimstone at my employees store front church, the 26 year old Pastor has actually done the deed and made a cripple walk for the first time in 20 years. And my employee is convinced she has witnessed a miracle. I didn't mention to her my belief that if he was that good God would have got him a job at the hospital.
Back to the neighbor... jail house tattoos knocked on the door yesterday to ask if I ate pork . Seems he was given a freshly dated still frozen pork loin that they were going to have to throw away and would like to gift it to me. Obviously they are the recipients of some form of aide as its hard to imagine that 5 adults in the house can survive on one of them doing the occasional UBER drive. All five adults seem to be driving nicer vehicles than my 3 year old F 150.
Store front churches are springing up like mushrooms here ... we in fact have some little strip malls with three " church's " all next to each other .
Guess I chose the wrong biz
