I don't regard democrats as the heroes of the GOP, but I do regard conservatives as such. He was a Dem and switched when he said that party left him. It's not about the party, but about the beliefs. He was a hero of the GOP for being a conservative, not a Dem or Rep.

What does your mind say the GOP ought to be?

I was a county election commissioner until this year (had to quit to take care of my wife.) We Republicans used to band together to investigate fraud charges, and we found things that would curl your hair.

For example, one county commissioner noted a lot of absentee ballot requests that had the same address in Hot Springs. It was a lawyer's office.

My apologies, I was referring to Senator No, Jesse Helms.

There's a word I had to look up. Maybe the N Koreans are right. Keep them away from meteoric information input.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

As mentioned before, my daughter has a degree in psychology and use to work at a mental retardation center composed of mostly blacks. During the 2012 presidential election the black counselors would take ballots and show everyone where to put their "X". Needless to say all the patients voted for obama even though they didn't know what they were doing.

Sorry to hear about your wife and also for what you are having to go through. Comments as above tend to go un-noticed till mentioned in other threads what her sickness actually is. As we live our final years it is vital that we have our spouses to rely on.

Love starts out exciting, passionate and exhilarating. It ends up bitter-sweet.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family, Vern. I have watched friends suffer.

Well said Sam! Trump is not a perfect man nor does one exist. When he was building his casino in Atlantic City I worked for a company in Camden who fabricated quite a bit of steel which went into building that casino. He then failed to pay many of the small companies like the one I worked for. Luckily the man I worked for was smart enough to take out insurance against such a move as suing would not get anywhere as his lawyers would just slow down the process and bankrupt a small business with enormous lawyer fees. I knew what he did in those days but still voted for him as like you Dad said, It's part of the good with the bad.
