    Look out Virginia.

The Governor of the great state of Virginia has called the legislature back in to take up gun control measures. Sure didn't take the Democrats long to use this for their liberal agenda. Who would have thought Virginia of all places would be next.

No doubt there is an agenda out there to severely curtail firearms ownership. Aligning that movement with an opposition to workplace shootings could get traction. Last time I checked, lots of people go to work, and don't want to get shot while at work. Even true of the infantry. Personally I'm OK with expanded background checks. If in order to build up a M1 Garand and transfer it to my kid, we had to drive to see my FFL for the background check, that would be a little paperwork and a couple of hours to shoot the sh*t. Not the worst way to spend the afternoon. I am however firmly against bans on what I can own.

When one has to ask government permission it is no longer a right but a privilege.

Va already has background checks available for those with out a license,

and it is a free , but not mandatory , service done by the VSP

Northam is just pandering to the cause,
his agenda is straight out of the Dem playbook,

shooter supposedly used a 1911, extended mags (which would be a 10 round mag, maybe)
        bought both guns legally,

no word on type or if the suppressor was papered (legally owned) or not

in other words, nothing he is proposing would have stopped the shooting,, except ban Suppressors in Va

I had some criminal "friends" who could take everyday items and turn them to crime. Not hard to use a plastic pop bottle and other "items" to make a crude, effective quieter.

With suspects known background what gun control legislation, except total confiscation, would have prevented this.

Even total confiscation would not work -- you'd get the good guys' guns but not the criminals and psychos.

Crook guns come from the pool of legally-owned guns.

Common knowledge among the intellectuals. The dumb and retarded not so much so.

Germany has strict gun control but yet this came in just today.

A German politician was murdered by a gunshot wound fired at close range to the head early Sunday, local police have no suspects or motives.

Con's can and do make weapons in the joint out of common materials, what does one thing that they cannot do the same out here? Ex-con's will kill cops to get their weapons, so now to protect cops the cops must be disarmed. Now who has the tools to use?

Is anyone seriously proposing disarming law enforcement or even private security? And with Heller, one can only go so far.
