I don't believe in inheritance tax. Wealth or assets worked for or accumulated in the past have already been taxed and probably taxed many times. Passing these assets on to others shouldn't be an issue and no ones business especially the government.

If some of these assets are real estate, mineral rights, certain stocks and etc then the taxes being paid will automatically follow on to the next owner w/o paying a net sum inheritance tax to boot---this would be paying taxes twice in some cases.

Indeed. If you take care of your children, and pass a bit on to them, and they pass a bit more to your grandchildren, and so on, your family will never be a charge on the public. And if EVERYONE did the same, poverty would disappear. Let each generation take care of the next, and let to Government stay the hell out of it!

Oh pulllleeeeze. Children who grow up with everything handed to them somehow make better adults than those who had to earn it in the first place? Basically you're saying that there is no difference between Wealth Creators and Wealth Inheritors, which is possibly the most ridiculous thing you have ever said. Squire Humphrey aspires to be a member of the landed gentry. Were this 1773, he would be demanding that the crown bring to justice those miscreants who destroyed private property (tea) in Boston Harbor!

But this would NOT be the democrat way of living for the day, putting nothing aside, saving nothing, buying everything you can't afford to pay for on credit, going to only the most expensive colleges with a student loan that you have no intentions of repaying, having kids when you can't afford yourself, refusing to work the "hard" jobs or the ones that won't make you rich overnight, and having the attitude that everything should be "free" because the world "owes" you.

Sounds like the AARP crowd on double coupon day.

Welfare if it comes from the taxpayer.

Spoiled if it comes from the parents. I personally have no problem with spoiled. It doesn't cost the rest of us anything.

                  Amen!

Welfare is an economic strategy in some segments of the population -- "I turn 16, get pregnant and get my own apartment and my how check."

Most kids of thrifty parents become thrifty adults -- it's only a myth that helping your children somehow makes them turn out bad.

Welfare is the government plantation with a new overseer over the people regardless of color. Problem is that what do people who have nothing to do do? The ones I dealt with got into mischief a great deal of the time. The women became as my wife calls them "Margarine" the cheaper "spread". Sleeping all day, getting into trouble at night, dealing drugs out of their government homes. If caught they are kicked out of their homes and then the leftist proclaim "You are hurting the children!" Now the democrats who are running are promising more "free" if you just vote for me.
