Woman spends two days tracking thief who stole her car and wallet

Good read! A woman spends two days tracking the thief who stole her car and wallet by monitoring stolen purchases on her credit card - and steals it back. She filed a police report but then decided to take matters in her own hands.
She spent 48 hours on the tail of the carjackers, trying to find out where they were headed. And a happy ending with the police arresting the thief.

Clay County, Missouri was the home of Jesse James.

Jesse didn't have to worry about Google Earth. Stealing a cell phone is like stealing an ankle bracelet. To dumb to live. Then there's the guys that steal a bike and try to sell it on Craigslist. The victims go on Craigs list and find their bike and get the nitwits arrested. Remember the movie where (maybe it was)Paul Newman who asked, "who are these guys"? Some people make it their job to track down thieves. Locally there have been a couple of murders run to the ground by friends and family of the murdered victims. One case involved a guy that went camping. A car load of tweekers pulled up in a stolen car that was about to break down. They murdered the guy. His friends reported him missing. Well, the cops didn't have any idea where to start, but his friends knew about where he liked to camp(I would have camped further away from the road). They searched the area and found their friends shallow burial spot. That story cemented my resolve never to let a carload of "partyers" pull into my camp spot. If you want something done right, do it yourself.
Of course, there's a caveat to that.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

        That, M'lad, is why I carry a .45.

Back before the 'net, I clipped an article from the Sacramento Bee. Woman recognized several of the guys who gang raped her. She went and grabbed her brother's .22 and spent the weekend tracking them down. Juries kept saying 'NOT GUILTY' every time the D.A. tried her.
