    Holier-that-thou

Kissing hunters who posed above the body of a deceased lion in a Facebook photo have exited social media over large-scale backlash.

Jeez! You mean a husband and wife have no right to celebrate a successful hunt? Give me a break!

Free to do what they want. Maybe one day a cat will pee on their gravestone.

I don't like that hunting the big cats is legal anywhere but it is and there's nothing I or anyone else that's opposed to it can do about it. Trophy hunters have every right to hunt and kill what is allowed in particular countries but posting a picture of the kill regardless of what they are doing in the background is going to bring about some resentment from animal lovers.

Hate their laws not the ones abiding by them.

Gee... if only we could be that understanding of someone with an opposing political view point .... America would be truly great again

Years ago, I remember a Fish and Wildlife officer saying, "The Blue Bird is facing extinction. If it weighed two pounds and would hold to a point, it would be on the increase."

Hunting is a legitimate tool in game management -- and species that are hunted thrive, because hunters WANT them to thrive. Arkansas is a case in point -- black bears were extinct in this state about 60 years ago, now they're thriving.

Elk were extinct -- and now we have an elk season every year.

            1. It shows a genuine married couple, not one these of these pseudo-marriages.
            2. It shows them with guns-you know that 's going drive Leftists insane.
            3. If they had taken a picture of an abortion all the Leftists would be applauding.
            4. And of course they paid good money for that hunting license, plane fare, lodgings, etc., money that Leftists think should have been spent on some Politically Correct thing they approve of.

And the local people, who benefit from all the money hunters spend, should be left to starve.

I am reminded of the editor of the New York Times who said a bailout of his paper was the moral equivalent of feeding starving children in Africa.

                yep,

                trophy hunting is big $$$$$

the local tribes get the meat, and a big pile of cash for each animal killed,

lots of folks don't realize you pay the locals for each animal killed, and some can be expensive

It's a win-win situation, and the couple that killed that lion did more for the poor of Africa than any of the bleating holier-that-thou rectums condemning them.

Yes, and have the low class picture to prove it.

All I saw were probably two wealthy individuals ( one with a tattoo sleeve) taking advantage of an animal that is probably trying to survive after they have been butchered over the years. I wonder why would you want to kill something that you don't eat ??? I am 81 and still hunt. But I eat what I kill. My Dad taught me this when I was first given a RED RYDER BB gun. I killed a Blue Jay and I was threatened that I would eat same. Instead I got a ass cutttin I have never forgot . My son also hunts and he knows the rule. If you kill it you eat it.

I am a shooter, not a hunter, taking pictures after a successful hunt probably goes back to the start of photography.

                            +1 to Mr. Cook.

Recently in a barber shop, there was a magazine, mostly ads, about fancy guns and year round hunts anywhere in the world. In the back was a column lamenting declining recruitment rates among the next generation of hunters. According to the writer, not enough kids were, believe it nor not, "popping sparrows with BB guns" as part of their introduction to the hunting life. I couldn't believe that.

Like back in the day, spearing frogs in the ditch to feed the villagers?
