    London Weather

    For DT:

London may hit 101F Thursday, which would break the all-time record. That place like most of Europe outside of the Med basin is not built for such temperatures.

As of 2PM local time, 104F in Paris. I could bring the heat on this subject (climate change), but nature beat me to it.

Yes 74, not 44. New records highs are set twice as often as record lows.

I remember back when I was a child and it got hot in the summer, then cold in the winter. Some years were severe, some were not. It seems to take longer for some people to observe things than others.

The hot dry air in Europe blew in from North Africa and then just got stuck there.

I've asked the deniers this question before, and was greeted with mute silence. Maybe this time it will be different.

What would it take for you to start to believe? One extraordinary weather event? 10 years of strange weather? 20? If you start to believe, what is it you are giving up?

Only if you believe that it is the "most important question of our civilization".

Nonetheless the question remains. What would it take to change your belief, BB?

Everyone talks about the weather, but no one does anything about it. What are you going to do about it?

                          the answer is always 42,,,,

no one knows what the question is yet,

temps in Europe are not it,

meanwhile BBC says we have a year,,, then doom

                          not buying it,
There's a growing consensus that the next year-and-a-half are key in the battle against rising temperatures.

We could dump billions and billions of dollars into the International Conference on Climate Change and Global Warming for many, many years. Oh, wait, that's already been done.

We are off to Copenhagen in two weeks and then a cruise from Denmark to England with stops in Scotland, Belgium and France. I am hoping that the heat wave will break before we get there but just in case, I'm packing some shorts and sandles, even if I look like a tourist.
