Lyman, the "no big deal" argument invariably cuts both ways. If it's no big deal to do something (show ID to vote), then it's no big deal to say show an electric bill instead. In any case, the position of the GOP, as channeled by the moment through Mitch McConnell, is that voter lists are a big deal but nothing else about elections is. And of course it isn't just about registering. It's how lists get purged, how absentee/early voting are used, how polling places are restricted. Take any aspect and you will find an example of a GOP administration with a thumb on the scale. My own view is more free market, that the GOP should complete for minority votes instead of trying to suppress them.

Trump is competing for the minority vote. Check the employment figures released today, record low unemployment for Blacks and Hispanics.

Yes, and some may give him the vote. But others are not just interested in economic issues. I guess we could classify them as "values voters".

Some of them will say "they didn't want to work". Things were just great collecting welfare and being paid not to work.

Some are resisting the opportunities to work. Welfare recipients is not my problem .... but sub 30 yr olds still living at home sure is . Most of my block are hardcore Trump fans with 20+ year old kids either still not working...
or working part time.....part time...

Funny thing is ... in an area where you can pick up a job in an afternoon search.... Trump fans are still telling me that Trump is going to turn things around for their kids and provide jobs ..... kids who are no different than welfare recipients

if the kids have no ambition, and/or it the parents don't instill in them that they need to get out and work, (at some point regardless of the job) , then does it really matter what president is in office?

The report is "dead" except to the demoncrats who are trying to raise a dead horse. What is going to be more of interest is what is coming in the fall with the current investigations.

It would appear he's alluding to the disconnect in his neighbors' politics and their luck raising their own kids. Sort of a "MAGA begins at home, don't it?" question.
