So the Squad and the National Socialist Democrat Party wants to buy black votes by giving them our tax dollars. They forget there was something called "Reconstruction," where the South was stripped of much of it's wealth and it's infrastructure.

But that was then and this is now. The Dems, who have never done anything for the black community, are on the verge of losing their support and are waving bundles of cash in order to buy their votes. The truth is that reparations will cost every American and not just those in former slave holding states and not just the descendants of slave owners. According to the above article, only 7.4% of the total U.S. population in 1860 owned slaves. I would bet that today far less than that percentage are descendants of slave owners. Nobody from my family ever owned a slave. They immigrated here from Ireland and England during the Great Potato Famine in the 1850's and settled in the mountains of Tennessee, and Arkansas. They were dirt farmers and moonshiners, not cotton growers or plantation owners.

360,000 Union troops died during the Civil War. Why should all Americans be punished for slavery and why should blacks that are not descendants of slaves be rewarded when their ancestors were most likely not slaves in the U.S. prior to 1860?
