I see nothing wrong with 'Gun Buy Backs" ...

    As long as it's anonymous.
If folks wish to sell their firearms to the government, that's
OK with me. For the most part the guns are inherited and the
old lady widows who inherited the old Mausers lurking in the
back of the closet would have no use for them anyway.
If someone wants to sell their AR, it's probably for the best
as there many gun owners who shouldn't be gun owners.
I have a few old relics I'd sell if the price was right, but I live
in a democrat dominant county where the only NRA sticker
is found on my truck. No need for gun buy backs when there
aren't any guns to buy back.

Presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke expressed interest in implementing mandatory gun confiscation through a gun buyback program similar to the one

However, this guy's idea like all his ideas stinks like week old fish.

This is always popular with criminals who are dieing to give up their guns.

Buybacks usually consist of a ridiculous figure of $50 per gun so mostly what people turn in is crappy single shot shotguns and guns that don't work.

In this case buybacks may be a predecessor to outlawing and confiscation. Lets not forget how every one was treated with the recent bump stock ban.

In years gone by I mused about getting a casting kit, making up pot metal specials for one of these "buybacks".Nowadays one of these computer programs could do the job.

I’ll never forget the early buy back program of a few years ago, here in Connecticut!

In the central part of the state, a gun shop was located across the street from the Police Dept.

People were buying those cheap NORINCO SKS’s for $89.95 . . . . carrying them across the street to the Police Dept., some still in their boxes . . . . .and the cops were giving them $150 for them!

Channel 3 TV reporter asked the cops if they knew the rifles were coming from across the street, and they said, “Yes, but the city fathers set up this buy-back program, so we cannot do anything about it.”

            The program ended shortly there-after.

Can somebody explain how a "buy back" is supposed to WORK? As we see here, people sell junk or worthless guns -- and because of the pledge that no checks will be made, it's a good way to get rid of incriminating evidence.

Yep, guns used in crimes and stolen guns. Some might steal just to sell at the buybacks.

This only helps those who would use their guns against us as there would be fewer guns in the hands of law abiding citizens. Our tax dollars at work.

Strange how the ONLY item we are guaranteed to be able to buy and possess is constantly in question, viewed upon badly and exploited by the liberals and media as being evil.

                  exactly,

I sold a few fire damaged (as in burnt to a crisp) guns to some folks out of state that had a buy back,

they gave me $20 ea, then turned them in at a buy back somewhere out of my area, and made about $50 ea,,,
