But seriously, to the point, banning all but a few types of firearms and making possession of those heavily regulated, like they do in Europe, would reasonably be expected to reduce gun crime. Hopefully there are other ways too, less objectionable to gun owners. How is any of this a riddle?

On a related point, I keep hearing that hunting is getting less popular. The time involved has to be a factor, but the expense of it can't help. Read the ads and they'll tell you to buy all kinds of extra stuff to maximize your experience. That seems a marketing strategy to me, to sell as much crap as possible to the people who are buying. If you don't have 2 ATVs, a bevy of trail cams, the latest ammo, scope, and camo clothing then you might as well not even bother. Oh and don't forget the boots.
