I had a white car at one time. Never again, The glare off
the hood from the sun meant I had to wear sunglasses
even when I didn't want to. Silver would be far worse.

Reminds me of the interview with Wing Commander Knutsen, who came to England from Norway when the Germans invaded.

"Commander Knutsen, you flew Spitfires during the Battle of Britain."

"Ja, I fly da Spitfire."

"You must have had some close shaves. Could you tell us about them?"

"Vell, dere was one time I vas dogfighting dis fokker. Dat fokker got on my tail and I couldn't shake him off. Dat fokker shot me full of holes!"

"I think we should remind the audience that the Fokker was a type of fighter used by the Germans. Isn't that right, Commander?"

Ive heard it said you dont sit in the cockpit of one of these fighters as much you wear it.

Pictures of the pilots getting into Spits and ME-109s shows they were very tight cockpits in small aircraft.

Its going to be a bit of an endurance test on some of the longer legs of this flight.

I have not seen a Spit that close, but I think they did a good job in Dunkirk with the Spitfire Pilots,

Tom Hardy looked a bit cramped in the cockpit, (guessing that part was somewhat realistic,, the Spit burning on the beach was not,,,)
