The choice for thousands of union workers at Royal Dutch Shell’s petrochemical plant in Beaver County was clear Tuesday: Either stand in a giant hall waiting for President Donald Trump to speak or take the day off with no pay.
Your post is misleading. Just not getting paid overtime if they don't stay. The workers attended paid classes all day and if they wanted to stay beyond the shift time to see trump they would be authorized over time pay at time and a half, if they do. They were not going to have to take the day off with no pay as you said. Ray

You mean the Drudge Report is pushing false narratives?

That's a quote from the article, not mine.

Just written to give the impression that nobody received any pay that day!

Not your fault! it was the way that it was presented in that news article, Ray

...and I agree. Since I linked the article, it's been revised and presented differently.

Might be a lesson here, let a news story simmer for 48 hours before reading it. No wonder why the media gets the flak for how it presents "facts".

Worth noting that the plant was full of people on the clock, getting paid to be an audience for Trump. Overtime at that. I'd cheer too for time-and-a-half. Double-time? Cheer louder!

20,000? Shell would have played a very small part and this was just an isolated event too. Trump always draws big crowds often with people waiting in line for hours.
