Glad they caught the lady. Hopefully word of her prosecution gets out and deters any others.

I'm gonna cooperate with the cops -- good friend of mine, Mike Steven, just went off watch, killed in the line of duty. My grandfather was a motorcycle cop, and was killed in the line of duty -- his name is on the "Heroes of Oklahoma" monument.

And I am also going to protect my family and home.

Agreeable answer by Vern. Lyman, no doubt you've heard some of the "defend myself against the predations of a tyrannical government" rhethoric that pops up from time to time, and was somewhat popular from say '08 to '16. That's not just roving bands of gang-bangers, people talk about. So it's out there. Who buys in and who doesn't depends on the individual.

Well I'm much more willing to see the shades of grey than others, and I don't let my arguments get hung over the edge. But if you want to peel the union and find out who's secretly worried about the government, then just bring up the subject of say, registering ARs and other SHTF favorites so the Federal Government knows who has what at any given time in an electronic database. To be honest, I don't like that idea myself, but if the choice ever comes down to registering or surrenduring them or becoming an outlaw, I'll take door #1. Remember, I have no family or regional traditions that glorify taking up arms against the United States of America.

so you are an immigrant, as in recent (past 150yrs?)

I have family that fought against the British, as well as the Union (and honestly may have some that fought with the union,, maybe,, small chance,,)

but my direct fraternal ancestor stepped of a boat (yep an immigrant) at Jamestown around 1610 or so

as far as the Feds, and Registration, I've posted before about the NFA branch, and the Registry, and it's inaccuracies, surely adding a few million of more to the registry will be a smooth operation,,,

Post 1871 immigrant from the Second Reich on my father's side. Go back to the 1620's (Delaware, IIRC) on my mother's side, according to my one child who was a wiz at digging stuff up. Mother's side was, shall we say, a tale of second-or-later-children on some old but not necessarily fancy blood lines. And some married better than others, which is often the case with marriage.
