So Israel is banning half of the squad. This might be a first. With a little nudge from Trump. But when did this ever happen before? When half(hyperbole) of Minnesota is black you get a muzlim congress woman(damn Lutheran liberal white do-gooder comebya sixties hippie underground railroad democrats). I'm saying democrats cause it's current. But it seems real. There is a fragmentation. The guy in Animal House might say, fragmentation is good. That seems simplistic(and animal house). But another notch down or up, whatever your politics.

It's already Israeli law. Trump is just stoking more propaganda.Last edited by Roadkingtrax; 08-16-2019, 08:03."The first gun that was fired at Fort Sumter sounded the death-knell of slavery. They who fired it were the greatest practical abolitionists this nation has produced." ~BG D. Ullman -

Thanks.
Israel "has the right to determine who enters its borders" and that the ban was an effort against "those who seek to delegitimize Israel while hiding behind the language of human rights
-hiding behind the language of human rights- Aside from the original post. While no one is trying to delegitimize America(from the south they don't care) there's a sentence that should be paid attention to in the U.S.
Ignore this sentence in the context of the post on Israels banning of 50% of the American squad. If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.Comment

She agonized over the matter and decided that the humiliating terms could not be accepted. Tom Friedman (from same Minneapolis-St. Louis Park area that I lived in when first married, and which Omar now represents) had a good column on this in the NY Times. Trump is trying to turn support of Israel into a US political wedge issue, with Netanyahu's help. Both are doing damage to US-Israeli relations. Read the column if you can find it. Friedman is no fan of Omar either.Last edited by togor; 08-17-2019, 03:11.Comment

Yet another example that ALL politicians are cut from a different bolt of cloth.
I'm a firm believer that there are ALWAYS at least two sides to every story. Talib and Omar certainly had to know a visit to Israel would create some hubbub; yet they chose to visit anyway (wonder what that trip cost the taxpayers). For whatever reason, they soon realized that other countries don't follow U.S. law/regulation/policy when it comes to entry into their country...Hmmmm...sad. I guess for all of our faults and shortcomings, the U.S. is still the greatest place to be.
As if that wasn't enough, Talib couldn't further humiliate herself by adhering to Israel's 'conditions' in order to visit her Grandmother in the West Bank. 'Oppressive conditions'??? Get out of the good old U.S. much? Apparently not...Poor little lawmaker?!?! If you want oppressive - I'd could take you to some out of the way places in Afghanistan that would really make you wet your pants. Last time I checked YOU chose to run for office - suck it up buttercup.Comment
